This site contains maps and data produced at The College
of New Jersey using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology. This work
has be done under the direction of Dr. William J. Ball, Department of Political
Science.
At present our GIS efforts are concentrated on three areas:
 | Building a neighborhood indicators system for Trenton and the surrounding
area. The neighborhood indicators system is a project of the
Leadership in Public Affairs
program at TCNJ. As of Spring, 2003, an initial set of 15 static maps have
been produced for Trenton. These can be found on the Trenton Area Map page. A
much wider range of data on Trenton is available from the 2000 U.S. Census
than is found in this map series. The Data page contains the census data by
neighborhood in Excel format as well as ZIP compressed archives with Arcview
shape files and maps. |
 | Producing maps for classroom use at TCNJ. A initial PDF format map series
for use in selected Political Science courses has been uploaded. Additions
will be made as funding permits. |
 | Assembling a complete record of New Jersey election results. This project
is being undertaken by Chris Puorro. |
Unless otherwise noted, all maps are made available for public use.
Printable maps are in pdf format and require the
Adobe Acrobat
Reader software.
